We are proud to announce the release of Yii Framework v1.0.1!

In this release, we included over twenty minor enhancements and a dozen of bug fixes. We implemented the feature for supporting scenario-based validation. With the help from the Yii community, we added core message translations in German, Spanish and Swedish. We also optimized Yii and further improved its performance. Last but not the least, we added a complete blog demo to help new users to learn Yii. More details about this release can be found in the change log.

Happy New Year!

As a new year gift, we added to SVN a complete blog demo which shows how to use Yii to develop a real world Web application. The blog demo contains features including user login/logout, blog management, comment management and tagging. In the near future, we will also add theming and internationalization to it.

We have optimized Yii for the upcoming 1.0.1 release. Compared with 1.0.0, the new version is improved by 10 to 80 percent in the maximum RPS. This further widens the performance gap between Yii and other frameworks! Please check out the performance comparison page, which was updated to include the latest versions of other frameworks.

Wei used his expertise on search and added site-wide searching capability to our website. It allows us to search for four types of information (forum, guide, class reference and extension) using a single unified interface! And the searching is done in just a glimpse of time.

We are proud to announce that the first stable release of Yii is now available!

Thank you all for your feedback, suggestions and help during Yii's public testing period. We believe this release has reached to a state that allows Yii to be used in a production environment. And we are committed to ensure backward compatibility in future service packs.

Over the previous RC release, we added four new components in this formal release: CTabView, CStarRating, CUploadedFile, CFileValidator. We also added many minor enhancements to individual components and fixed several reported issues.

Please make sure you read the upgrade instructions if you are upgrading from earlier versions. We are eager to hear your feedback on Yii. Please report to us if you find any issues.

The extension repository system is now ready. You may share your Yii extensions with others using this system. Please let us know if you have suggestions or find any problems using this system. We hope the system can grow to a degree that it allows one to build up a Web application more quickly with the extensions.
