If you started playing with Yii2's new GridView, you will soon realize that some things have improved quite a lot, but I am sure its going to be a bit confusing at first glance when you try to modify certain javascript behaviors like for example, its delete confirmation dialog box.

How do you read and handle tabular data submission via form in Yii framework 2.0? Sometimes we want to collect user input in a batch mode. That is, the user can enter the information for multiple model instances and submit them all at once. We call this tabular input because the input fields are often presented in an HTML table.

After you have setup your Yii2 advanced application, you now have setup your user authentication for both frontend and backend. So you want to use a fork of any existing vendor extension with your Yii 2 install and use the fork, instead of original source. This does not need you to push any update or register your package on packagist.org. You are recommended to follow the approach below:

[Guide] How to actually separate Frontend (User) and Backend (Admin) on Yii2 Advanced

Updated 2 years ago by samdarkHow-tos2 comments – viewed 61,374 times – ( +17 / -2 ) – version 2.0
I am writing this guide because I struggled to find a resource that included ALL of the necessary steps to completely separate the frontend from the backend. After reading guides like Configuring different sessions for backend and frontend in yii-advanced-app and yii2 configuring different sessions for backend and frontend in yii advanced application template, there are still steps missing. It is funny how the 2nd one says it is an extension of the first one's article. So I guess, my wiki guide here is yet a 3rd and more complete extension of both of them. I also found a few StackOverflow questions and blog posts regarding this topic. None of them fully worked, and must be missing some magic sauce!
