Load the Yii-Bootstrap Extension on Specific Actions

Created 2 years ago by chuntleyHow-tos5 comments – viewed 15,625 times – ( +10 ) – version 1.1
A big problem I've hit with the Yii-Bootstrap extension is that all AJAX requests are initializing Bootstrap because of preload. This is a huge waste of resources, especially when using AJAX-based file uploaders that split the file into chunks. Large file uploads using that method could be initializing bootstrap hundreds of times.

Integrating ZF2 into Yii - use case demonstrated

Created about a year ago by BoazHow-tos2 comments – viewed 5,161 times – ( +10 ) – version 2.0
I needed to use a class from ZF2 in my Yii project. I've read probably all there is about this subject and still I needed lots of trial & errors to get it working, probably due to my lack of experience working with namepsaces and ZF2 in general. Also, the resources on the web are all partial, at best. Most simply refer to ZF1 where things are technically different. When I got it all working I decided to record my findings and that's how this article was born. The below recipe is what worked for me, accompanied by relevant comments. References: This article is partially based on this guide page. Be sure also to consult Zend Framework 2 documentation.

How to read HTML5 Multiple File Input from controller?

Created 7 months ago by Kartik VHow-tos1 comment – viewed 2,490 times – ( +28 / -4 ) – version all
Ok, so you have a HTML 5 file input markup on your view and you have enabled multiple attribute to true. You may also be using widgets based on HTML5 input like \kartik\widgets\FileInput. But when you read a file in Yii controller using CUploadedFile (Yii1) or UploadedFile (Yii2), you do not see a list of multiple files that you selected in your view, but only one row. Your HTML markup in your view would be something like this and you don't know why this is not working?

In Yii 1.x, there was a built in widget CStarRating based on the jquery star rating plugin. There exists no prebuilt solution in Yii2, however the same concepts can be extended using any jquery plugin.
