Hello everyone,

For the past 6 months I’ve been working on a new book called Yii Project Blueprints, and it was published today!

Congratulations! Worth adding it to the list of books at wikipedia Yii page.

Does it make sense for a Yii beginner to read this book? Yii2 will soon be officially released. Is it worth to read about the old version?

I don’t want to debase the work. Some blueprints can be really helpful. But wouldn’t mean that one has to start with Yii1? Or is this book intended for developers that already use Yii1? Or is Yii1 and Yii2 so similar?

I am also interested to know how much cross compatibility the blueprints in this book have between Yii1 and Yii2.

As with my 1.1 cookbook I think you can get ideas from 1.1 books but not code because of backwards incompatibility.
