Having over 25 years experience in Oracle and doing much large scale development with the CASE / Designer modeling tools, I find the CRUD generators to be a bit immature. Handy but not being re-entrant they are limited. Being able to define look and feel of attributes once and have them be consistent throughout the application saves lots of time. Dealing with Boolean and Enum is also a bit tedious.
Defining Trees / Multi-Select lists is easy but again being able to define a model and link the behaviour to the model would
be great.
I have played with a few generators primarily Gii and AWEGEN. I have had trouble with others, Giix, Bootstrap, AWECRUD…curious what others would suggest. Yii Booster and BootStrap seem nice but I haven’t played with them much as I am committed to a project right now.
