http://www.simplydrop.co.uk/ is a UK recycling for cash scheme run by Royal Mail and developed by Targetbase Claydon Heeley where I was the lead developer.

We choose YII for it's flexibility and extensibility.

Take a look, hope you guys like.

Hi Chris,

It looks great! Would you be able to provide a short blurb about the site and the role of Yii please?

Cheers, Wei.

Of course :D

Simply Drop is a a pilot recycle for cash scheme run by Royal Mail where users send their devices and receive a payment. In this project we needed a quick and easy to use framework which already had included components that we would need, such as authentication, database access via active record but also needed it to be fast and efficient,Yii fitted the bill exactly. We created our own role based authentication extension to handle a more complex authentication system but other then that we needed to do very little to get the application up and running. We built a CMS to allow RM to handle the back end device processing, produce reports for management and manage the users on the site. We were able to turn around this project in under 2 months, to deadline, thanks mainly to Yii's flexibility and out of the box features.
