Does anyone know how to separate the filter row from the CGridView widget? See Merx for an example. The filterPosition property only allows 3 positions within/attached to the grid.

It sounds very interesting.
But have you considered making use of the folded "detail search" form that Gii has generated with a CGridView in the admin page? I would rather modify it to serve the needs.
