Converted our company page to Yii.. Fairly simple, it'll become more complex as time goes on.
I take advantage of active records, soap services with flex client, and some jquery.

I might suggest you make it fixed instead of fluid. Otherwise with my 1400x900 res it looks kinda weird.

the content for the most part is fixed. it was developed on a widescreen, i don't see it being that bad.
can you be more specific on what looks 'weird'??

Layout looks weird after a window resize, i opened the site @ 1600x1200 and it looks great, switched the same browser window to a 1024x768 screen and it looks weird... also opened first @ 1024x768... looks great, switch the window to the 1600x1200 screen... weird again..

I use the firefox webdeveloper plugin to check resolutions. I can't seem to recreate the problem. What browser are you using and are you changing your actual resolution or the browser window size?

Sorry for the delay, Was moving. http://i41.tinypic.com/256wyko.png OS is ubuntu, browser is FireFox, Screen Res is 1400x900.
